I don't know why they thought this would be a good design. Many people have commented that the clips are flimsy, they are. More importantly, the oval takeoff sits only 0.25" from the front of the box, but drywall is 0.5" thick. The takeoff, and thus the ductwork interferes with the drywall. This item literally can't be installed.

The brackets that secure the main housing to the wall studs are designed to slide and lock onto the main housing using tabs for alignment. On three of the four brackets that came with my unit, the tabs were curved, preventing the brackets from connecting properly, and there was excess plastic moulding that caused two of the brackets to break. Also of note, while the brackets provide 1/2" of space for wall sheathing to be installed overtop and align with the front of the main housing, the in-wall vent connector sits 1/4" closer to the front of the main housing, meaning it interferes with the wall sheathing. This product needs to be redesigned and provided a better manufacturing process.

Installed and works as expected - very simply. However, mine came with different sized pieces to screw into, which I thought was odd, but it didn't impact installation or function. Overall, a bit flimsy and packaging was poor, but it gets the job done. Just make sure you have all the right pieces before you leave the store. I ordered mine online and luckily the parts it came with still worked fine.

Doesn't fit well with drywall, tabs are poorly constructed and easily broke. It's in the wall serving its purpose, but thank goodness it's hidden by the dryer. Unfortunately no other alternatives were available.

Had to return this due to poor craftsmanship. The plastic tabs on the side are manufactured of the cheapest available plastic and will crack upon insertion when following manufacturer's directions due to being warped. I do not recommend this product.

This is complete and utter junk. The handles that are supposed to attach to the framing flakes off like a cracker and breaks as you try to install it. Do not waste your money.

Did not meet the County's code for fire/heat protection. Nice design, just poor choice of materials.

Easily installed, but when I went to route out the drywall I installed over it, all of the tabs holding the box to the studs completely disintegrated. If I’d have known this I would’ve tried to pre-cut the drywall before hanging over the box. Only con to this product but it sort of left it unusable for me

It's a great product, every dryer should have one. I only wish the plastic were a bit thicker.

This product "might" work if using with drywall only. There isn't enough space between dryer entrance into box and bezel for drywall and tile. Also the hangers are very fragile and weak. 2 out of 4 broke during installation. Would not recommend.

Not a very good product. There are better ones out there for sure. Don't make the mistake I did by buying this one because it was at local depot. Shop around and get a better made one. This one is cheap and the flimsy. Do yourself a favor and get a better quality one. You'll appreciate you did.

The box is pretty flimsy, but it should hold up fine. The reason for a two star rating is the adapter that goes onto the dryer hose, where it attaches to the box it makes a poor connection.

I originally thought this would be a great idea for our laundry room remodel. Unfortunately, this is a very thin and cheap piece of plastic. The cover does not want to stay on because the box is so flimsy. Save your money on this one. Not worth it.

I was pleasantly surprised that this recessed dryer vent box us as good looking and useful as advertised. I used it with a new system in a box which made the entire project go faster. It looks just like the picture and is much easier to put together even in W/D closets that have been finished. The color of the plastic is more grey than white but that didn't deter anything.

Material is cheap and very brittle. Mounting tab fitments is awful (and one was missing) not that I would've trusted them to hold... Ended up modifying the whole installation. Could've built my own with all the time I wasted with this. Lesson learned. Home Depot should seriously consider taking this product off their shelves until the manufacture can address the problems with it.

Absolutely garbage. Save your hard earned money. Made from cheap plastic. Vent damper door malfunctioned nearly ruining new dryer.

Great product. perfect for Electric dryers and should be sold in more place. Do your research always when looking for new ways of improving.

CANNOT BE USED FOR GAS DRYERS!! Alert! Alert! Guess what? You must vent gas dryers directly to the rigid aluminum pipe by code. Note in the specs it says "Compatible Appliance Type: Electric Dryers" Dryer vent boxes are cool.. The way of the future. But they should all be made of metal so carpenters are not later chopping up drywall to replace the flimsy plastic piece of junk they accidentally installed because they didn't read some fine print. THIS SHOULD NOT BE SOLD IN HOME DEPOT OR ANY STORE!

Awesome choice for a 2x4 wall, converts vent to a 4" oval, then opens up to a full 4" circle for dryer connection. I needed to finish my laundry room and it didn't have the back wall framed at all, and I didn't want to use 2x6. With this box I was able to maximize my space with a 2x4 wall and the recess of the box will allow me to slid the dryer back a few more inches than having it stick out for a normal connection.

My contractor thought this was great. The dryer tube falls out and lent is everywhere. Sadly I have to remove drywall to remove it.

This item was easy to install, but a bit flimsy. All in all, wort the price.

I agree with everyone else that said it is VERY hard to install, very flimsy and is not worth the headache to to try and install it! It doesn't come with very good instructions and the frame keeps coming loose from the wall, it looks terrible, fortunately you can't see the mess on the wall with the dryer in place!! I still need more room to open the door going out as this product just didn't help that issue!!!

The vent box is fine enough but there were some major quality flaws that made life difficult for me. The tabs that are supposed to click on to the box so you can mount it to the wall were not sized accurately, so I ended up having to custom cut each of the tabs to get them to snap together, then the quick connect vent did not snap into place, so I had to tape it together. In hindsight I should have taken it back to see if I had a faulty product but I was urgently trying to finish the project and couldn't lose the time ordering a new one. Now that I have the box installed it is fine, but just beware that there were some technical problems getting it to that point.

I would NEVER recommend this vent box...fell apart after installation and sheetrock. I should've known because it felt cheap during installation!! Go with a metal box.

I am so happy with the fact that I am now able to move my dryer closer to the wall (creating more space in the laundry room).
